Cook and Clean with Kate

My first week as an Ibiza Resident

31st March 2016

I can’t believe I am finally here after the most manic eight weeks of my life! I am slowly starting to breathe again and want to apologise to anyone who has tried to hold a conversation with me, who I have totally ‘looked through’ as the ten billion things to do were flying through my head! Soz!!

Unexpectedly there were a few problems including air traffic control strikes in France, meaning that all flights to Ibiza were cancelled for several days which meant hubby and Co couldn’t get out there!

I hear you saying ‘not a big deal, what’s the problem with that?’ Well, the lorry collected our belongings from England and was arriving at our new house in Ibiza several days later with no one there to meet and greet him, but more importantly no one to offload the boxes and unpack! (My dream of Nanny Cherry having it all ready for when I arrived were totally squashed!)

Like that wasn’t painful enough, my husband didn’t order a big enough lorry to transport all our possessions to Ibiza, which meant we had to organise for the rest of our belongings to be transported out, and that’s not happening for a couple of weeks! And guess what box was on the second delivery… clean bloody underwear!!!!! Honestly, I could have throttled him!!

Anyway I’ve forgiven him now and can actually laugh about it. I have decided that moving abroad is tough and that if I was to move again in the same country it would be a doddle! A bit like how I imagine if you were to give birth to twins and then give birth a few years later and have just one child.. that too would seem a doddle! Do you know what I mean?

I did have two days of settling in nicely, starting to relax until a small incident which left me small time fummmmingggg!! Today Henry lost control on his segway which Father Christmas brought him while zooming round the pool area. Immy cut him up and yep you guessed it, the segway ended up in the bloody pool!! Luckily Henry didn’t go with it, but considering I had warned the kids to not use them around the pool area at least a zillion times, you can imagine my reaction!! The segway is currently still there as the pool is too filthy for anyone to get in and rescue it. Henry very nearly followed.

It was nice knowing you Mr Segway!

For now Adios and I’m sending sushine to England for you all!

Love Kate xx
